Does NO ONE on this server actually live raid anymore?
I get that new players to the server (but not to the game of Rust itself) might be conditioned to play the game in a certain way, namely KOS and OFFLINE raiding, but players who have been here for maybe 3 or more wipes I thought maybe have a slightly different attitude.
I raid for resources or for fun. If a base costs too much to raid then what's the point other than to have a heap of fun gun fighting other players - that's if you have the resources to actually partake.
To raid someone's base (especially a solo player) while they are offline is not fun in my book, and it just ruins that players experience of Rust and of the Server overall. Throw in a little bit of pointless griefing - blocking doors / placing turrets.
You can probably tell that my base got raided and griefed last night. That's me done.
Rust is no fun at the moment.
Big thanks to the guy(s) who griefed my base.
@stonebrew - you aint got the balls to come at me when I'm online.
Hey Crypt - I'm new to the server and will be having a couple buddies join me hopefully on Thursday (all brand new to rust). I'll play a decent amount but I don't know about them. With that said, I'd love for you to join us and play if you're interested. We're all 23+, US eastern based and have full-time jobs so eastern evenings is when we'll play the most in general.
I'll warn you I like to do an offline raid here or there but I agree with the not bullying the small guy (especially once you've established yourself quite well into a wipe). Let me know!
I don't mind the raiding - it's all just virtual stuff, but the pointless griefing sucks ass. Making it even harder for a player (especially a solo) to get back into the game mid-wipe. There's a goddamn turret in my loot room.
I pine for the old days of Rust on servers like Rustiigo (the very first and genuine Rustiigo) where we had several strong groups but the fun we had raiding each others bases (LIVE) was immense and intense.
chardo, thanks for the offer, but I don't think I'll be playing Rust for a while, until the devs fix it.
I had to quit Rust for a while myself. As players, we put a lot of time into our bases and gathering resources only to have them taken by others. It's frustrating to say the least.
I'm not going to lie. I helped to raid your base. We raided you for preservation of our own base. For 11 days we anticipated your raid after you guys placed those (FIVE) tool cupboards, but the raid never came. Apparently we got too big, according to your post, and it wasn't worth it or you couldn't afford it.
Are we 100% certain it was you/RussaX, pretty much. Can we prove it, no. Will you deny it, yes. Blah blah. Its Rust.
Stop pretending to be all honest and a good and trustworthy Rust player. There is no such thing. Players should also stop pretending that there is an unwritten code of honor in this game. There isn't. I do find it hard to believe after reading your complaint that you would have adhered to the same rules that you're attempting to place on everyone else.
Personally, I am not certain I like to be online while I'm being raided. Happened on the last server we played on. I was suppressed by two gunmen in the top of my base while one man blew into my base and took what he could. The taunting was excellent and I was done for the cycle. Didn't care for it one bit.
I try to learn from things like this since I enjoy the game so much (except for all the shitty parts). If I can offer any constructive criticism it would be that your base was predictable. It was pretty clear that you started with a 3x3 so that makes the first guess on the tool cupboard pretty easy and we got it right. Once that happened it was over. I think we used 4 C4 and 12 rockets. I'm not saying any of this to be a jerk. Just a little debriefing. I'd love it if people explained how they got into my base as that's the part of the game i enjoy.
I didn't say your base got too big to raid - I have never seen your base so I wouldn't have a clue. It was indeed Russax who placed the tc's around your base. He's been offline for several days though - He said he did that to stunt your growth, seems he was right, kept you down for 11 days. I'm not 'pretending' to be anything. I'm not attempting to place any rules or code of conduct on any player - that's the server operators job. People who usually say things like 'I'm not trying to be a jerk' usually are - a jerk that is.
You offline raided my base last wipe too. I see a pattern emerging.
You say it's frustrating to have your base 'taken' by other players and yet you placed and loaded a turret inside my base - that's not a strategic move, it's a dick move and it's not just me that you did that to after a raid. Predictable maybe.
Don't worry though, you can fall back on the old faithful 'It's Rust blah blah'.
I didn't fall back on anything by saying "its rust blah blah." I was predicting that you wouldn't step up and be truthful about the tool cabinets. I was wrong. I appreciate the truth.
So now that we've established the fact that you and your partner placed 5 (read FIVE) tool cabinets to "stunt" our growth you should be able to accept that we placed an auto turret and a tool cabinet to "stunt" your regrowth. Pot meet kettle.
If you're so concerned about offline raids perhaps a server where they mod against it might be more to your liking. Or if you're at home here perhaps post a playing schedule, a map locating your base, and a sign out front so that it is not raided until it's convenient for you.
I didn't place any tc's around your base - I've already stated I've never even seen your base. Russax placed tc's around your base (as previously stated). I have no control over what another player does. Your little team of 3 offline raided a small solo base and griefed it because Rust. Not for gain either by loot or area control, just for the lulz or maybe to teach us a lesson. Funny how I never saw anyone anywhere near my base while I was online.
Raid us while we are online or is the risk of getting your arse handed to you a little too much?
..and are you suggesting that if I don't like getting offline raided I should shut up or fuck off? Bollocks to that.
@muffinstuffer If my langauge is a little too colourful, please let me know.
Fairly certain we weren't online when your partner placed those tool cupboards. I also don't care if he's been offline for a few days. The company you kept and their actions brought this on you. Choose better partners.

Ah I love the rivalry that is growing. Whatever whatever at this point. Its the end of the wipe cycle, stuff happens. I hope this sparks a fued between you two and I can get some great PVP/Raid footage from both of you. If thats what neither of you want maybe come to an agreeance right here right now for next wipe cycle. I dunno, extort someone for protection. 5k stone/wood per day hahahahaha

Rust doesn't come with honour built in - You add that yourself.
